Chaga

Inonotus obliquus, commonly known as Chaga, is a mushroom that mainly grows on birch trees in the northern hemisphere. It resembles the appearance of burnt wood with brighter colours apparent beneath the surface. It’s charcoal and orange appearance is a result of very large quantities of melanin. Chaga is full of micronutrients and is high in Vitamin D, Vitamin B Complex and Potassium. Several research studies have shown Chaga to reduce cancer growth without affecting healthy cells. Other studies have linked the consumption of Chaga with reduced blood sugar levels, reduced inflammation and an improved immune system by regulating the production of cytokines, improving communication between cells.
